RIO HONDO – The City of Rio Hondo has approved a budget for the 2013-2014 fiscal year for approximately $1.7 million, which Mayor Gustavo Olivares said isn’t much different from that of last year’s budget.

“Our budget that we have in place is basically for our regular operations of the city,” said Olivares on Tuesday. “We’re planning to receive some grant funding in the next coming months, so that’s how we propose the future major projects that we have. We’re allocating the funding for the regular operations of the city and also the maintenance. There is nothing really different or out of the ordinary of basic operations.”
