RIO HONDO – The Rio Hondo Independent School District honored Anneliese McMinn, who just retired as the district’s superintendent, at an end-of-the-year ceremony at Rio Hondo High School Saturday, June1.

“It was very sweet,” McMinn said of the event, which included a breakfast held to honor the now-former superintendent.

McMinn announced her retirement earlier in the school year, culminating a nine-year span in such a capacity with Rio Hondo ISD and a 40-year career in education.

“I have enjoyed every minute of it. It’s been great,” McMinn said of her career. “Forty years is 40 years. It’s time to do something else. It’s time to rest.”
