Felipe Sanchez Jr. plead not guilty Wednesday to intoxication manslaughter, a charge which stems from the death of a school bus driver who was killed while on his way to work in San Benito.

At an arraignment hearing Wednesday in the 107th State District Court in Brownsville, Sanchez, 21, pled not guilty to intoxication manslaughter with a motor vehicle, according to Public Information Officer Melissa Zamora of the Cameron County District Attorney’s Office.

Investigators with the San Benito Police Department said Sanchez was intoxicated when driving a Ford Mustang that was involved in a two-vehicle collision – an incident that claimed the life of 38-year-old San Benito CISD school bus driver Juan Luis Espinoza.
