MERCEDES – The Rolando Casas coached San Benito High School junior varsity boys’ track team competed at a meet at Mercedes High School on Thursday, February 28.
Competing in the 400 meter relay were JC Hernandez, Javier Ortiz, Anthony Noyola and Victor Gaitan, who placed second with a time of 46.10. Chris Sanchez ran the 100 meter dash with a time of 12.70.
Hernandez, Manny Sanchez, Noyola and Gaitan placed third in the 800 meter relay with a time of 1.37.56. Eduardo Romero competed in the 400 meter dash with a time of 56.44 as well as Benito Cavasos, who ran a time of 63.85.
Frank Lucio competed in the 300 meter hurdles with a time of 50.30. Running the 200 meter dash was Jerry Segundo who finished with a time of 26.39, Chris Sanchez who finished with a time of 26.12 and Jesse Ibanez who ran a time of 26.53.
In the 1600 meter run, Trey Saldaña finished with a time of 5.45.18. Competing in the 1600 meter relay was Marcy Carrizales, Hernandez, Manny Sanchez and Gaitan who collectively placed third with a time of 3.51.74. The team scored a total of 32 points.
