Florence Ellen Cowgill Goddard, “The heavenly voice” of San Benito past has passed on to her heavenly home at 6:20 p.m. EST on December 17, 2012 at Greenspring Manor, Springfield, VA.
Her daughters, Eileen Albrigo and Kathleen Moss were by her side.
She was born and raised in San Benito. Her family, Elfie Irene and Samuel Paul Cowgill owned Laguna Vista Dairy. Her grandfather invested in rice and sugar cane in the Rio Grande Valley. At the time, all of San Benito knew of her angelic voice. The family attended First Presbyterian Church of San Benito.
She is survived by her brother, Robert Miles Cowgill (93), now living in San Benito; and her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
