HIDALGO – The Rio Hondo Bobcats traveled to Hidalgo to take on the Pirates in Friday’s away game.
The Bobcats proved victory in a 19-15 victory and now hold a 5-3 record overall.
Head Coach Rocky James said, “Everyone played very well tonight, Sergio Perez went in as quarterback for Juan Puga.”
Perez replaced Puga at the playcaller position after the former suffered a torn ACL last week during the game against La Feria.
“Our running backs, RJ Vega and Hernan Guerrero, did outstanding tonight,” he continued. “It was really a second-half-kind of game. Hidalgo was up (7-0) at the end of the first quarter and our defense went in lights out. Our offensive line played hard, and it paid off.”
The Bobcats have a break this coming week and hope to come back strong for the home game against the Port Isabel Tarpons on November 2 at Bobcat Stadium in Rio Hondo. Kick-off is set at 7:30 p.m.
