Special to the NEWS
Any coach will agree that offense, defense and special teams are the three key aspects of every football game.
Well, on Friday night at Bobby Morrow Stadium, the San Benito Greyhounds kept their perfect home record intact by relying on explosive special teams and a defensive effort for the ages. When the final whistle blew, the Greyhounds walked off the field with a 17-7 victory over the PSJA Memorial Wolverines.
The Wolverines marched into Greyhound country looking like an offensive juggernaut after hanging 62 points in their game last week. The ’Hounds wasted little time showing why this defense is the cornerstone of their team, forcing the Wolverines to punt on their first drive.

The hounds offense will have to play alot better against Nikki Rowe so they can give the defense more time to rest instead of going 3 and out almost every time but the defense always comes through when the game is close
but where is the offence
GREAT JOB TURI ON THAT 90 YARD TOUCHDOWN!!!! GREAT JOB DEFENSE-KEEP HOLDING EM’ BACK!!!
Even when a team wins an important game don’nt let your emotions get you “foucus”. Find out as a team as much as you can about your next apponent and who their key players are on defense. Run the perfect offensive plays you need to run against their defence in order to score. It should not 4 plays to score against a defence your ready for. If the offence is not so great maybe they are “over acheivers” and can be taught differant formations to confuse defenses. Mistakes? well thats another topic. Drop passes, fumbles, interceptions, WOW! penalties they’ll beat you for sure and moral will fall . It’s hard to play against yourselves and espacillay harder when you give the game away. That is not what a team practices for everyday. Make every huddle count for something! Good Luck on your next game and most of all have fun and make memories of winning together! P.S. Don’nt get intemitated..Focus!
I’m very proud for the hounds for winning an important game and especially
for playing in their other new uniforms that Nike made them when I
saw the uniforms I thought they were nice
