BobcatsRIO HONDO – After last week’s 48-27 loss versus the Sinton Pirates, the Rio Hondo Bobcats are set to face the Grulla Gators in Rio Grande City.

The Gators dominated the field during last week’s game versus PSJA Southwest, winning by a score of 27-6 to bring their record to 2-1.

Last Friday, the ’Cats put up one heck of a fight against Sinton’s Pirates but fell short of the win.

After last week’s game versus the Pirates, a visibly frustrated Head Coach Rocky James deferred comment to Offensive Coordinator Israel Gracia, who said, “We faced a very good football team, we tried a lot of big plays, some went well and other times they didn’t.” He continued, “This coming week, we plan to get back to work and grow together as a team.”

Last year, when Rio Hondo faced La Grulla on the field, the Bobcats edged a close win with a score of 14-13.

Will the ’Cats have a repeat of last year’s performance?

Rio Hondo fans don’t think so; in fact, expect the black and gold to be in full force cheering for the ’Cats.

Also, there will be a Homecoming parade inside Bobcat stadium on Thursday, September 20th at 7:30 p.m.

The game will be held in Rio Hondo on Friday, September 21. Kick-off is set for 7:30 p.m.
