RIO HONDO – There does not seem to be any middle school basketball in Jose Guzman’s future after all.
A time clock was set on Wednesday, giving Rio Hondo ISD Superintendent Anneliese McMinn 10 days in which to make a decision as to the re-instatement of (then) former Rio Hondo head basketball coach Jose Guzman.
At Wednesday’s meeting, Guzman and his attorney, Tony Connors, met with McMinn to address Guzman’s level two grievance, filed after Athletic Director Rocky James relieved Guzman of his position and offered him a position coaching basketball at the junior high level.
Friday morning, with still eight business days left in which to deliberate, McMinn said, “I officially re-instated Guzman.”
