Law enforcement authorities and school district officials confirmed that San Benito High School is currently on lockdown due to an incident at the Cameron County Annex Building.
The incident that occurred at the annex building, which is located adjacent to SBHS off of Williams Road and Expressway 77/83 Frontage, was involving a man who was wielding a knife.
Little else is known at this point, but what has been verified is that San Benito police are currently searching for the suspect. The high school, meanwhile, remains on lockdown as per procedure in such cases. Check back at www.sbnewspaper.com for more information as it becomes available.
