first day of schoolIt’s a day of first-impressions and sharing stories of summer follies that some highly anticipate. Others wish they could skip it altogether, and according to San Benito CISD Superintendent of Schools Antonio G. Limón, some do.

This year, August 27 marked the first day of classes for 10,259 San Benito students compared to the 10,412 who attended last year.

“It was a smooth start,” Limon said of the first day of classes. “We were 153 [fewer] students than this time a year ago, but that’s normal. Some students stay out of school until after Labor Day.”

Superintendent Limón added that San Benito CISD “is anticipating a great school year.”
