SOUTH PADRE ISLAND – The Ladies Kingfish Tournament came to a close Sunday at the South Padre Island Convention Centre.
South Padre Island Chamber of Commerce President Roxanne Grenzel said it was a great weekend for fishing, reporting that over 7,416 inches of fish were brought into the dock.
A total of 244 boats were entered in the tournament, Grenzel said.
First through fourth place for each species were awarded a trophy, and there was a grand champion in both bay and offshore fishing.
