RIO HONDO – No matter how humid or hot, these boys come to work.
In what the Rio Hondo Bobcats has named the Brotherhood, the varsity football team was able to practice Saturday morning in full pads in an offense vs. defense scrimmage.
Beginning at 8 a.m., the players experienced simulated game play for a little over an hour while parents and students looked on.
When asked about his thoughts on the scrimmage, Athletic Director and Head Coach Rocky James said, “It went fantastic!” He further explained the team could be “a little better” on team defense as a group but the Bobcats’ strength was on offense. James said, “Other teams are going to have to contain Puga,” of the teams celebrated senior quarterback, Juan Puga.
