emergency-lightsTwo San Benito men and a woman were arrested on Sunday for an alleged act of road rage, this after the victims of a hit-and-run reportedly attempted to chase the driver who struck their vehicle.

Detective Rogelio Banda, Jr. of the San Benito Police Department stated in a press release that 18-year-old Fredrick Eli Victor Martinez was the suspect of a hit-and-run, which occurred by the 1800 block of La Palma Street. The 911 call was received at 11:41 p.m., when the rear-ending occurred.

According to Banda, the victim and driver of the vehicle hit, 23-year-old Cindy Torres Rodriguez, and her companion, Tomas Salinas Jr., chased the suspect going through the streets of Ratliff, Combes and Frontage. The victim cornered Martinez on Ratliff near McCoy’s, police reported. Banda said Salinas, at that point, pushed Rodriguez aside and took command of the vehicle in fear that Martinez would elude them.
