Prosecutors postponed a July 10 hearing in the case of a middle school teacher charged with assault. The reason for the continuance is unclear.
“All I know is evidently the state requested another motion for continuance,” said David Garza, justice of the peace.
Garza said the hearing was supposed to possibly negotiate a “remedy” for the charges against Sandra Tumberlinson, who was arraigned on Oct. 27, 2011, with a class C misdemeanor of assault by physical contact.
Tumberlinson has pled not guilty and claims the allegations were an attempt to hurt her husband, Bob Tumberlinson’s chances of being re-elected to the board of trustees.

This incident was born from just more ugly politics with no substance.
