RIO HONDO – Coach Jose R. Guzman, the celebrated head boys’ basketball coach for Rio Hondo High School, awaits the result of a grievance he filed challenging his reassignment.
Rocky James, athletic director at RHHS, said he reassigned Guzman on June 1.
Guzman has filed a grievance challenging his reassignment. Guzman’s attorney, Tony Conners, instructed his client not to comment. Conners, however, did comment, saying “Guzman was removed on the last day of school, June 1 without warrant or reason.”
