Myrta SenterfittSAN BENITO—Myrta Kay Liles Senterfitt, 71, passed away at Valley Baptist Medical Center on Thursday, June 28, 2012, surrounded by her family.

She is survived by her loving husband, of 50 years Phil Senterfitt who was her high school sweetheart; two daughters Cindy (Bill) Klingaman of Marble Falls, TX and Kerry (Michael) Champion of San Antonio, TX; one sister Nina Beth Conaway of Benson, Arizona; six grandchildren, two great-grand daughters, a great-nephew that she considered a grandson all of whom were the love of her life. She was known as Gram Myrt to her grandchildren, she was the first person people saw upon entering into the First Presbyterian Church, and also was the prayer request lady. She loved her church, friends and most of all her family. She will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 1, 2012 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Henry Thomae Funeral Home Chapel on Bowie in San Benito. Private graveside services will be Monday, July 2, 2012, at 3 p.m. at Mont Meta Memorial Park with memorial service to follow at 4 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church 566 N. Reagan San Benito.

Special thanks to the Palliative care team at Valley Baptist Medical Center (Dr. Castillo, Henrietta, Annette); also Dr. Schwarcz, Dr. Mild, Dr. Sy, Dr. Broughton, Dr. Villarreal, Dr. Daschef and staff for the care and genuine concern given to us during this time of hardship. The excellent nursing staff on CCU and PCCU in addition to respiratory, physical, occupational and speech therapy, they all are truly Guardian Angels.

Services have been entrusted to the care of Henry Thomae Funeral Home 701 N. Bowie San Benito.; 399-9992.

    Phil,
    Our very belated sympatthy goes out to you and your family for the loss of your wife. As we now live in Panma City Beach, I did not know about your loss until today, December 2015. I was searching for someone else in the San Benito News and accidentally found this obituary. I wish you and your family well.
