A man allegedly involved in a hit-and-run car accident Friday was arrested by San Benito police, according to a report.
Officers with the San Benito Police Department arrested Roberto Alonso following an accident that occurred at 11:33 p.m. near the intersection of Sam Houston and North Frontage Road. According to police, Alonso was driving a red Ford F-150 truck and collided with another vehicle before allegedly fleeing the scene on foot.
Upon arrival, officers conducted an investigation of the truck and reportedly found an open 18 pack of beer as well as empty beer cans inside. Further investigation uncovered that the truck was registered in Alonso’s name.
