Lessons learned during his 18 months as a U.S. Congressman include some common-sense strategies that Rep. Blake Farenthold says, lets him sleep at night.
The congressman was in San Benito Wednesday speaking at a business luncheon hosted by the San Benito Chamber of Commerce and the City of San Benito.
“I was pretty idealistic when I went to Washington,” he told a gathering of business leaders and City of San Benito officials. “I thought I might change the world immediately. But then I thought about it…there are 435 of us (members of the House of Representatives), and two Houses of Congress, and then some. We learn pretty quickly that some of us are not as great as we think,” he said.
