After Dolly Vinsant Memorial Hospital failed to draw a single bid at an auction on Tuesday, tax attorneys reported that offers will now be accepted for San Benito’s historic medical facility.

“We’ll keep trying to sell it, and it’ll go up at our next resell scheduled in November or maybe September,” said John Guevara, a partner with tax attorneys Linebarger, Goggan, Blair & Sampson. “Typically, when we have a property that doesn’t sell at a regular sell or at a resell, it’s eligible for someone to make an offer, and the entities have to approve the offer. My responsibility would be to go to the entities with that offer.”

Entities in which tax liens are owed are the City of San Benito, the San Benito Consolidated Independent School District (CISD), and Cameron County.
