For most students, a day after school consists of spending time with friends, family or their video games; but not for San Benito High School seniors Hilario B. Garcia and Kristina Garcia (no relation), who continues to hit the books after the bell rings.
Hilario, 17, was named the San Benito High School valedictorian, earning over 35 college credit hours in the process with a 3.97 grade point average.
As a student at Dr. Cash Elementary, Hilario always thought he would end up in this position, and to make sure his goal would beome reality, he pushed himself hard. “I took a lot of extra classes I didn’t need,” he said. “It was to where I had a Math, English, History, and two Science electives.”
