San Benito CISD Place 1 School Board Member Fatima Huerta is shown taking the oath of office administered by Justice of the Peace David Garza at a special board meeting held Tuesday for the swearing in of newly-elected trustees. Anna Cruz, newly-elected Pl. 2 trustee, is pictured doing the same while San Benito CISD School Board President Yliana G. Rodriguez, Pl. 3 trustee, is seen taking the oath of office administered by 13th Court of Appeals Justice Roy Valdez. The site is where a special board meeting was held for the event and included a packed house of supporters for the newly-elected officials as well as entertainment provided by the SBHS Mariachi Del Sol group. Is that an upside down flag of this great STATE OF TEXAS! Man if the Lieutenant Colonel of the Texas Army ” William Barret Travis” would still be alive he’d really give those judges a piece of his mind.

“Embrace the change”? Are you kidding?? In the past week, their “change” has been without any common sense. You have two new board members who took ACTIONS this week on issues they Should Have Known NOTHING About!
Please explain that to us; the taxpayers of this district.
STOP BEING HATERS AND EMBRACE THE CHANGE!!!
I notice that JP David Garza swore in Fatima Huerta. I had also seen in other pictures of last year’s swearing in that this same JP swore in Julian Huerta. Isn’t this the same JP who was on TV and in the newspaper making personal comments against a teacher who was charged with abuse by Julian Huerta’s son and who came before him in court? Isn’t this a major conflict of interest, and shouldn’t he have removed himself from the case since he is obviously a supporter of the Huerta’s? With a JP in their pockets, who else are the Huertas and their relatives going to file charges against?
I didnt know it was against the law to attend a meeting. Well thanks for letting me know Mr. Presidents!
Richard, yes, the mayor of San Benito, Joe Hernandez, barber, had political signs on his property for Joe D. Gonzalez, JD Penny, Huerta, Cruz and Rodriguez. Yes, he is supposed to be impartial because he is supposed to represent the entire town. Yes, he did more to divide his community instead of uniting it. Yes, he and those others mentioned by Eliah attended the school board meeting and were part of the hecklers. Yes, Richard, only in ghetto San Benito.
The people supporting the “5” board members were making sounds and noises during the Special Board Meeting last night during the discussions. Only In San Benito!! Unbelievable !!
It is common courtesy for the Mayor of a municipality to stay out of local races and be impartial. As the Mayor he represents not just one faction of the community, but he represents an entire city. I cannot believe Mayor Hernandez would do such a thing. He has just contributed in dividing his own community. …only in San Benito!

Great pictures San Benito News! I can see the Mayor and First Lady were present at the swearing in of course. I had forgotten that the Mayor openly campaigned against the other candidates. Not good for a Mayor who calls himself “El Pelucero Del Pueblo”. Oh…oh.. I also see the Rangel lady who I hear goes where the wind takes her…and I also see the Mayor’s wife good good good friend. lol. And Lord and Behold…..I can see Principal Galvan was there. Wow! Wasn’t this man brought in from Raymondville by the previous board members? And who could forget city commissioner Tony Gonzales. He is also there along with the crazy t-shirt guy we always see on tv. Wow what a crowd!!! lmao!!
