Greyhounds overcome Laredo Alexander in game one

HoundsThe San Benito Greyhounds traveled to Alice, Texas Friday to take on Laredo Alexander in the area round of the playoffs, and they took their game along with them.

The Greyhounds defeated Laredo Alexander in seven innings, allowing only one run.

Starting pitcher Greg Rodriguez stayed strong on the mound throughout the whole game with his defense behind him only allowing one run in the fifth. The ‘Hounds came out swinging and scored their runs before the sixth. Jerry Arizpe, Jose Arizpe, Tommy Padilla, and Jacob Puente all came in for the ‘Hounds. Jacob Puente went 3-4 along with Homar Longoria.

Game two of the best-of-three series is set for Saturday at 11 am and will be played at Alice High School.
