A new operation aimed at curtailing a recent rash of burglaries in the city has already netted 17 arrests, San Benito police have reported.
According to Operations Chief Martin Morales, Jr. of the San Benito Police Department (SBPD), an initiative termed “Operation Blackout” has been implemented by authorities as a result of what the chief termed “a pattern of burglaries” that has only escalated in recent weeks.
“A pattern of burglaries has begun to emerge, and it brings a great concern to the citizens of San Benito and the police department,” Morales said in a news release issued to police staff and the citizens of San Benito.
