BROWNSVILLE – The San Benito High School varsity track teams performed well at the district meet at Sam’s Stadium in Brownsville on Thursday.
The girls track team placed second overall with a score of 122. In the girl’s 800 meter run event, finalists were Cejay Banuelos in third place with a time of 2:28.00, and Viviana Abrego in fourth with the same time. In the girl’s 100 meter hurdles, Gladys Sosa came in at third with a tome of 17.31, Veronica De Leon in fourth with a time of 16.32, and Jackie Vasquez in sixth with a time of 17.92. In the girl’s 100 meter hurdles, Banuelos finished second with a time of 1:01.46, and Abrego in third with a time of 1:01.28.

I just read the article and my son Gabriel Vasquez didn’t place 8th, he placed 5th in the finals with a time of 11.33. The place and time you printed was from the prelims. 🙂

Thank you, and id also like to mention that the boys in the 400m relay placed 3rd and they also placed 2nd in the 800m relay. The 1600m relay placed 3rf 🙂
