On Tuesday, March 27, the San Benito Police Department (SBPD) apprehended a 16-year-old male believed to be transporting marijuana.
Officers attempted to pull over the teen, who was driving a black Jeep Cherokee at the intersection of FM 732 and Pennsylvania Road, when the suspect lost control and crashed into two stop signs.
The 16-year-old, whose juvenile status prohibits authorities from releasing his identity, is said to have been carrying approximately 770 pounds of marijuana inside the vehicle. The street value of said substance is estimated at $616,400.
