policeCitizens of San Benito who wish to remain informed about criminal activity reported in their hometown can now visit cityofsanbenito.com for all their crime needs, not to mention the San Benito News Police Blotter, which will soon make its return to print.

But in the meantime, San Benito Police Department (SBPD) press releases detailing a number of crimes are linked on the City of San Benito website. In fact, currently linked at cityofsanbenito.com are assault reports, a press release on the aggravated robbery of a convenience store on Friday, and an announcement explaining the new feature.

  1. Congratulations to the SBPD for recognizing a need and taking action!

Next up should be an online list of “all outstanding arrest warrants with photographs if available”!

Public awareness might help the SBPD clear up some of these arrest warrants!

Now, if we could only get The City of San Benito to update their web site when it comes to online agendas and minutes.

The new and improved web site was created back in 2009 and the city is still way behind in updating/uploading the minutes of past meetings. The last city commission minutes loaded to the web site is September 08, 2009 and here we are in 2012.

It becomes very frustrating having to go thru the City Secretary to obtain minutes from past City Commission meetings when this should have been uploaded as soon as the minutes were approved by the City Commission!

http://www.cityofsanbenito.com/ should be the portal to information and not the lack of it!
