Going into Friday’s game, the San Benito Greyhounds were fighting for a chance to get back into district contention and were victorious in doing so as they defeated the number one ranked Brownsville Lopez Lobos.
Senior standout Jacob Puente pitched a one hitter for six innings and struck out five before he was relieved by Alan Ramirez, who helped the Greyhounds capture the win and held the Lobos to zero runs.
Offensively, Jacob Puente dominated with two RBI’s, bringing Jose Arizpe in twice. The ’Hounds scored three more runs by taking advantage of Lopez’s errors and ending the game at 5-0.
