In honor of March being “The International Women’s” Month, the Narciso Martinez Writers’ Forum is sponsoring “Women’s Voices” on March 17.

In addition to readings by women in the NMCAC Writer’s Forum, two female artists will feature their works in a display in conjunction with the readings at the Center. The artists include Nora Garza and Carmen Holdar. The public is invited. Refreshments, wine and munchies will be served. The center is located at 225 E. Stenger St., San Benito.

Admission is free and open to the public.

Holdar is a Classic Realistic painter. She was born and raised in Matamoros, Tamps, Mexico. In 1963, she moved to the city of Veracruz, Mexico where she lived and first felt her passion for the Arts. She subscribed and took drawing classes with Professor Abel Fernandez. She continued her drawing classes for the next two years. She then moved on and started oil painting classes with Professora, Rosa Orozco. There, she learned how to use different painting techniques, and painting styles.
