In this its 20th anniversary, the South Texas Adult Resource and Training (START) Center has much planned in 2012.
With three major projects, such as a new GED program, a youth program, and a plan to acquire more funds for those affected by Hurricane Dolly, the START Center is embarking on a journey to make a difference in the community.
Then again, that’s what it’s always done.
The START Center is a non-profit organization which began in 1992. A major goal that they have had since its finding is to allow adults to have the opportunity to obtain a GED. In fact, the START Center is undergoing a program called Plaza Comunitaria, which was signed on July 19 with the Mexican Consulate.
