For the past two and a half years, San Benito High School guitar teachers Alberto Ortiz and Jorge Mascorro have been teaching their class the ways of classical guitar.
Ortiz, who earned a masters degree in Jazz at the Berklee College of Music in Boston, has played classical music for 25 years, perfecting classical guitar art such as its flamenco style.
Once in San Benito, Alberto began a program of which had never been implemented locally. “I teach them how to learn to play, while also showing them to read the music with proper posture and technique,” said Ortiz.
