The San Benito Lady ’Hounds powerlifting team continued their dominance at the Valley View Invitational this weekend in Pharr.
The Lady ’Hounds finished the meet in first place, outlifting Los Fresnos which finished in second place along with 17 other teams from the valley.
The Lady ’Hounds brought home eight first place gold medals from Alex Marmolejo, Samantha Machuca, Denise Barrera, Illeana Lopez, Emily Hernandez, Amanda Ortega, Jamie Rodriguez, and Gina Elizondo. Newcomers Rae Ann Villafranco and Carizza Sandell finished fourth in their division.
The Lady ’Hounds will be resting up before they are set to represent San Benito at the Regional Powerlifting Meet being held at Calallen High School from March 1-2.
The Lady ‘Hounds powerlifting team is coached by Laura Gonzalez, Mike Evans, and Jaime Vela.
