Trustees advised not to vote on grievance

gavelThe San Benito CISD Board of Trustees will hear on Tuesday the grievance filed by a board member’s wife, who claims that a fellow trustee’s spouse allegedly assaulted their son.

Allegations stem from an October 11, 2011 incident in which Sandra Tumberlinson, an eighth grade teacher at Berta Cabaza Middle School, is accused of allegedly grabbing a student’s arm and forcefully taking him to the principal’s office. Mary F. Gonzalez filed assault by physical contact charges, a class “C” misdemeanor, against Sandra Tumberlinson on behalf of her son, who is the student in question.

Sandra Tumberlinson has since pled not guilty and claims the charges are politically motivated due to Gonzalez’s affiliations. Specifically, Gonzalez is the wife of Julian Huerta, a member on the Board of Trustees who serves alongside Sandra Tumberlinson’s husband, Bob Tumberlinson. Sandra Tumberlinson has also gone on record claiming that the charges were filed in an attempt to hurt her husband’s chances at reelection.

  1. Stop already stating that it is because of political. Its what She did wrong grow up San Benito and see what really goes on in our school district how Wrong thing are been run .To much covering up is wrong do what is best for our schools not for our fellow friends. Look at every thing at has gone thought our board and nothing is been done. My question is Why ? Why aren’t they doing any thing. Is it cause it is my friend , my sister,my brother in law my mother in law my brother sister . Well stop .Doing favors for any body and saying that nothing US caught on tape you are lieing to your self. Board members if you can’t do your own talking we don’t need you up there tell daddy to stay home . With witnesses and all still not guilty Please …

I believe this is all a political stunt by Mrs. Gonzalez-(Huerta) to put down the Tumberlinsons and not re-elect Mr. T. This Dlfuente person writing here appears to be another follower of the three who run the school board meetings and have no clue what they are doing…yes the president, the secretary and the other guy. The investigation has been complete and there is no evidence of wrong doing by Mrs. Tumberlinson and that’s enough for me. I cannot believe that now they are trying to drag Mr. Snavely in the mud too. Shame on you!! Mrs. Tumberlinson is an excellent GT Teacher who has always been good to the kids. My daughter loved here. This all bad politics! As a taxpayer and yes a voter of San Benito, I will be there on Tuesday supporting Mrs. Tumberlinson and the teachers of our school district. Hopefully, the three board members won’t make fool out of themselves.

  2. Only Bob Tumberlinson and Julian Huerta have been advised not to vote on the grievance, as per the school district attorney’s advice, due to a perceived conflict of interest.

I believe that it is very brave how Ms. Gonzales is protecting her son and I have to give her credit for trying to hold Sandra Tumberlinson accountable for her wrongful actions. I believe there have been many previous incidents that have been covered up to protect her – several BC teachers know this is true but are fearful of speaking because of retaliation and now the District is advising the Trustees not to vote on the grievance – what is the District trying to cover up now?

Ask yourself, who conducted the Internal Investigation-Mr.Limon/Mr.Snavely

Now ask yourself, why is it that Mr.Limon only leaves Mr.Snavely at BC-where Sandra Tumberlinson teaches but moves all the other Principals to different campuses. Perfect example of protecting Mrs. Tumberlinson.
Ask yourself, why did the JP decide there was sufficient evidence submitted by both student witnesses and why is the DA still investigating? As a taxpayer and voter, I for one will be attending the Board Meeting on Tuesday to hear how a SBCISD President, Treasurer, and Secretary will enforce accountability. I pray that the SBCISD BOARD MEMBERS do right by Ms. Gonzales and her son because the people will be waiting to hear their decision on accountability.
