San Benito High School will hold the annual Vanity Fair Coronation Ceremony and Dance on Saturday, Feb. 11. This year’s selected theme is “Hollywood.” Parents are welcomed to attend the Coronation Ceremony, which will be held at the San Benito High School Cafeteria from 7-8 p.m. The Student Council invites all San Benito High School and Veterans Memorial Academy students to the dance, which will follow the Coronation Ceremony. Free Weddings
Judge Elia Cornejo Lopez, in the spirit of Valentine’s Day, offers to perform free wedding ceremonies on Tuesday, Feb. 14. The judge is waiving the normal fee of $150.00. This is the fifth year that Judge Cornejo Lopez provides this public service to the citizens of Cameron County. Ceremonies will take place between 9 a.m. and 12 noon in her courtroom, 404th Judicial District Court, located on the third floor of the Cameron County Courthouse, 974 E. Harrison St., Brownsville. Couples must pay for their marriage licenses, which can be provided by the Cameron County Clerk’s Office, second floor of the Administrative Building, no later than Feb. 10.
