Master Gardener pic1The Texas Master Gardener volunteer program in Cameron County kicks off its 14th year in January with weekly instead of monthly classes, Texas AgriLife Extension Service officials said.

“We went to weekly classes so that participants could have the opportunity to engage in weekly hands on activities related to horticulture at the county MG Arboretum,” said Jennifer Herrera, County Horticulture Agent and Coordinator of the Master Gardener Program in Cameron County, with the Texas AgriLife Extension Service. “This way, graduates can complete their volunteer work and become certified Master Gardeners in the spring when many of our community gardening activities begin.”
