City of San BenitoCity Manager Manuel Lara has high hopes for San Benito in 2012.

“I am planning to schedule meetings of each city department and to give them lists of projects that need to be completed this year,” he said. “I will be giving each department my undivided attention and will make sure they do their best job possible.”

The City Manager has only self-interest and is following in lock step with the corrupt public officials.

  1. This is nothing more than a mere Public Relations campaign! It must be close to election time!

I don’t hear any specifics. No disrespect but all I hear from City hall is “I want to do this…”, We hope to do this….”, blah, blah, blah. We don’t need to spend any more tax dollars on parks, we have plenty of them. The city needs to focus on fixing the streets (i.e. Milam street, etc.) and addressing our street flooding problems when it rains.

Fortunately for us we had a practically non-existent hurricane season this past year and sparing us from any flooding.

Nobody is going to move to our City if our neighborhood streets are beyond repair and flood after a quick downpour.

Our Fire Department is understaffed and the Police Department has to fight City Hall for better pay!

The City’s “top priority” should be “Public Safety” and not parks!

I agree. The SB News should be ashamed for publishing such nonsense.
