A large liquid propane leak near the Port of Brownsville was reported Tuesday following an explosion earlier that morning, injuring at least one person and prompting the evacuation of nearby residents and businesses.
According to Cameron County Emergency Management Coordinator Humberto Barrera, the spill occurred approximately between 9:30-10 a.m. when a propane nozzle broke off, releasing the propane into the atmosphere.
