CORPUS CHRISTI – It was 17-3 at the half, the Greyhounds were up and – by all accounts – it appeared as though San Benito was going to move on to the third round of the playoffs for the first time since 2004.

Two quarters later, those appearances proved to be just that, and the San Benito Greyhounds (9-3 overall) fell in a heartbreaking loss to the Laredo United Longhorns (9-3 overall), 24-17.

Puente always throws an intercection on his first pass to wam up, he’s a running qb not a passing one, stll say they they should have called a runng play that close to the goal line. As one caoch to another would tell you if you can not score from 3 yards out you don’nt desire to win.

I’ve never understood–the young men try their best and come up short and the coach gets the blame. Everyone is expecting the run, so passing seems reasonable. The players involved simply didn’t execute the play properly. So be it!!! Why blame the coach . . . if you change coaches, can you guarantee the players will execute properly?

Hey Jesus…maybe you should try coaching then!! You are just another coach wannabee always putting the blame on the head coach. I was at the game, and the kids didn’t come out and play in the second half…period! And then there was the roughing the passer call. Did the coach do that? Did the coach throw the interception at the end of the game? Of course he didn’t…it was the players! They simply didn’t execute!! So please stop blaming the coach for the loss. Instead we should all be supporting the program….cause God knows we’ve come a long way from three years ago!! And I thank the head coach for that!!!
