Live bullet casings found in the possession of several Landrum Elementary School students on Thursday were traced back to a nearby park, where dirt had been imported from the local police department’s shooting range, San Benito school and city officials said.
San Benito CISD Superintendent of Schools Antonio G. Limón said six Landrum students came to school Thursday carrying discarded shell casings, some spent and at least one was a live round.
