fireAuthorities continue the search for the three suspects believed to be involved in arson, a crime which stemmed from a recent fire that left a San Benito home significantly damaged.

According to San Benito Fire Marshal Henry Lopez, firefighters were called to a residence located on the 100 block of South Mayfield Drive at approximately 5:52 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 12. There, firefighters came upon a home that, while not fully engulfed, had sustained damages to the roof at the rear of the home, a back porch and utility room.

After the fire was extinguished and the smoke cleared, Lopez said damages totaled near $25,000.
