San Benito Greyhound sophomore sensation Adan Guzman is a rare baseball player who doesn’t come around very often.

On the field he’s a warrior that goes above and beyond to help his teammates win, whether it be diving for foul balls or hitting game-tying triples. Off the field he’s a unique 15 year old who’s polite, courteous, and respectful. The most distinct quality that he possesses is his dedication to a sport that doesn’t garner much attention in San Benito.

At the age of four, while little boys at his age were playing with cars and monster trucks, Adan was busy playing t-ball and was smitten from the start. At age seven, Adan started catching and found the position he was born to play. His adoration for the sport continued to grow and he eventually never stopped playing baseball. Even when baseball was in its off season, Adan continued to play year ‘round despite his parents having to travel to Brownsville or Zapata as a result.
