It’s over … at least for now.

Mark A. Feanny, M.D. of National Healthcare Development Partners (NHDP), who was working last year with San Benito Enterprises, LLC, the current owners of the defunct Dolly Vinsant Memorial Hospital, announced Friday in an exclusive correspondence with the News that the attempts by NHDP and its affiliates to reopen the facility “have been terminated.”

Causes cited in the correspondence point to infeasibility issues and the hundreds of thousands of dollars in delinquent taxes owed by San Benito Enterprises, LLC to the City of San Benito, San Benito CISD and Cameron County.

Feanny’s statement reads, “Following a collaborative in-depth feasibility study performed by NHDP and Nueterra Healthcare, the facility’s chosen operator, that was based on submitted physician and participant medical practice surveys, the project failed to reach our required benchmark performance standards justifying further development efforts.”
