Rebounding from a narrow loss Tuesday night to Los Fresnos the Lady ’Hounds of San Benito locked up a spot in the postseason with a road win over Weslaco Friday. Turning up the defense, the Lady ’Hounds held Weslaco to single digits in each quarter as they rolled to a 44-26 win.

“They gave us some problems early,” said Head Coach Clarisse Arredondo, “but we turned up the pressure and gave them some new looks on defense that really helped us a lot.”

The win keeps the Lady ’Hounds on top of District 32-5A where they’re 10-1 with three game remaining and it drops Weslaco back nearly out of reach for a challenge at the title. Los Fresnos is still a game behind San Benito.
