City seeks attorney qualifications

Affordability was one of the reasons she got the job, and now it may be why she could lose it.

Less than two years after the San Benito City Commission contracted Jan Cassidy to serve as its attorney, qualifications are once again being sought for the position.

The City of San Benito advertised in this edition of the News a request for qualifications (RFQs) for city attorney services, action which stemmed from a 3-2 vote during Tuesday’s regular city commission meeting. Voting in favor in the measure were Mayor Jack Garcia and Commissioners Rene Villafranco and Tony Gonzales. Opposing were Mayor Pro-Tem Bill Elliott and Commissioner Celeste Z. Sanchez.
