San Benito wins hoops doubleheader

The San Benito Greyhounds varsity basketball team defeated the PSJA Memorial Wolverines by a score of 80-50 on Friday, Jan. 17 at home. Also victorious in the first game of a double-header were the San Benito Lady Greyhounds, who secured a victory over PSJA Memorial, 71-24.

Greyhound golfers victorious at tourney

San Benito High School senior golfer Francisco Guerra won the boys division of the PSJA Individual Golf Tournament on Nov. 22 at Tierra Del Sol golf course in Pharr. Guerra, a member of the Greyhound varsity golf team since his fresmen year, placed first with a score of 75. He is also an All-District selection in the 2011, ’12 and ’13 seasons. Emma Valle, a decorated Lady Greyhound golfer, also took first place in the girls division.
