Having Fun at Sunny Glen
Members of the San Benito Fire Department visited with the children of the Sunny Glen Children’s home in San Benito on Monday, July 16. The firemen demonstrated their equipment, talked fire fighting techniques and inspired the children to consider firefighting as a career. One of the highlights of the day was when the McAllen based Air Evac Lifeteam crew flew their helicopter and landed it on the Sunny Glen campus to the cheers of the children. Sunny Glen Executive Director Ray Crowder said, “The men of the San Benito Fire Department and the flight crew of the Air Evac Lifeteam left our campus as modern day heroes in the eyes of the Sunny Glen children.” Pictured is Aiden, a resident of the home, with a San Benito firefighter operating a water hose. Aiden is also seen in the cockpit of the Air Evac Lifeteam helicopter. (Courtesy photos)
