Pulse Athletics
Pulse Athletics All-Stars competed at the Redline Cheer and Dance Nationals on Saturday, March 31 and Sunday, April 1 in San Antonio. The level one All-Stars earned third place in a strong junior division. The level three All-Stars took national championship honors in the senior co-ed small squad division. They will be competing in Corpus Christi on April 14 at the World Spirit Championships. Also, on Monday, April 9, Pulse Athletics will host a showcase of all its classes including tumbling, karate, dance and cheer. Chamber holds luncheon
The San Benito Chamber of Commerce held a luncheon Wednesday in which the guest speaker, Precinct 3 Cameron County Commissioner David A. Garza, was on-hand and discussed the development of recent projects and the completion of others, including street repairs and the work on I69. SBHS choirs take sweepstakes
On Friday, March 23, four choirs from San Benito High School competed in the annual UIL Concert/Sight-reading competition held at the University of Texas at Brownsville (UTB) The Arts Center. The varsity women and the varsity mixed (the Greyhound Chorale) earned a superior rating on both Concert and Sight-reading, garnering the coveted “Sweepstakes” trophy. New Rotarian welcomed
Rotary Club of San Benito recently held their orientation for new member Zeke Luna (center), who was sponsored by club member Mike Frazier. Conducting the orientation was Chairman Bob Salmeron with those present viewing the video “This is Rotary”, showing projects that Rotary International sponsored in Buenos Aires, Argentina, New Delhi, India, Sao Paulo, Brazil, Seoul, Korea, Tokyo, Japan and Zurich, Switzerland. The club officers and directors explained their duties, responsibilities and made short comments on Rotary in general and what “Rotary Means to Them”. Past presidents explained the “Service Above Self” motto for all Rotarians to follow in providing service projects or assistance to organization serving those in need to the less fortunate.
