Meteorologists are keeping an eye on Tropical Depression #7, which is currently in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean.
Although still too early to tell if it will strengthen into a tropical storm, the National Weather Service in Brownsville confirmed that the system is moving westward at 23 mph toward the Lesser Antilles Islands in the Atlantic Ocean.
With maximum sustained winds up to 35 mph, Maria Torres, a meteorologist for the Brownsville NWS, said, “It has a possibility of strengthening to a tropical storm, (but) it’s pretty far out and it doesn’t look like it will really intensify.”
According to Torres, weathermen will continue monitoring winds, movement and speed of #7, which will be named Gordon if it reaches tropical storm strength.
