First United Methodist Church is taking donations to assist San Benito children with the purchase of shoes.

“In His Steps” is a ministry the church has implemented for several years. Through the ministry, the church assists San Benito families with the purchase of new shoes for children and teenagers. The program is funded using church offerings and private donations that enable a purchase of $18-25 gift cards from Payless Shoe Source.

Church members said that, throughout the years, they have seen a significant increase in the number of referred students who are in need of shoes, and the demand is expected to increase.
