Two San Benito teachers have received the highest honor in the school district.
Noelia Nadine Montez, a fifth-grade teacher at Landrum Elementary School, was named the 2011-2012 San Benito CISD Elementary Teacher of the Year. Michael Torres, an eighth-grade Social Studies teacher at Miller Jordan Middle School, was selected as the Secondary Teacher of the Year.
Educators are nominated annually for such honors with a Teacher of the Year selected for each campus. Montez and Torres received district-wide honors as the elementary and secondary Teachers of the Year, respectively, in addition to being the Teachers of the Year at their campuses.
